Exploring the World of Elixir Bound

Blog Tour Banner-page0001

In case you missed it yesterday, I was featured on the Where Writers and Author Meet blog. Here’s your opportunity to ask me ANYTHING! Post your question in the comments and my answers will be posted next Monday.

The fun continues with the Elixir Bound in paperback blog tour (full schedule here)! Today I have a very special reveal *drum roll* … the official map of the world of Elixir Bound! This map includes not only Faway Forest, with the Three River Split and The Sleeping Giant mountain range, but also a look at the entire Great Peninsula.

Places like the cities of Skimere and Lughorn, Blanchardwood, and Drim will play very important roles in the next Elixir book, Elixir Saved. Check back in all month long for more cool reveals, including a sneak peek of Elixir Saved at the end of the month.

Enough blathering! Let’s get to the map! 🙂

Very neat. Was this in the book too?

    • Katie L. Carroll

Thanks, Suzanne! Sadly it was not included with the book, despite my best efforts to have it in there. Oh, well…still fun to share it online. 🙂

Lovely map! I guess you really need a map when you are creating a fantasy world.

    • Katie L. Carroll

Hi, Marie! Creating a map was one of the first things I did when I began writing the book. It’s gone through a few versions since then, but it has been immensely helpful.

It isn’t quite like Hirsten’s map, but it’s fun nonetheless. I love maps. Thanks for sharing it.

    • Katie L. Carroll

Ha! It does seem quite lame when compared to Hirsten’s map, but we don’t all have his special brand of magic!

So cool!! Love getting to see this 🙂 Wish it could have been in the book, but at least we got to catch it here!

    • Katie L. Carroll

Thanks, Meradeth! I, too, wish it could have been in the book. Maybe I’ll get it in the next Elixir book.

Great map, Katie. Thanks for sharing it! Maybe you could keep it posted on a page here for your fans to see when they visit.

    • Katie L. Carroll

Thanks, Mary! I was definitely planning posting it on a page here on the website. I’ll be doing some site updates once the paperback is available for purchase, so I’ll probably add it in then. 🙂

SO COOL!!! Did you draw it?

    • Katie L. Carroll

Thanks, Erin! Yup, I drew it. The original is in full color…this one is a simplified b&w version I traced from the original.
